Bundelkhand Art Society in association with Govt. Museum Jhansi organized an International event for women Artists on the occasion of International Women’s Day from 6 to 8 March in the Art Gallery of Govt. Museum Jhansi (UP). It is free of cost opportunity for all International women artists to showcase their works at the International level.
“Manu-The Power of Women” The International Women Exhibition-2020 was only for women artists from the globe. This unique event is for the women, by the women in which from organizing team to chief guest & guest of honors- all will be females only.
Celebrating International Women’s Day, Bundelkhand Art Society is dedicating this entire program to Jhansi Ki Rani (Queen of Jhansi) Rani Laxami Bai. Her Childhood name-‘Manu’ is used as the title of this show which is representing the whole womanhood.
About the show
The international event was inaugurated on 6 March 2020 at 2 pm onward by Chief Guest Dr. Sunita, Asst. Professor, fine Art dep. Bundelkhand University Jhansi along with special guest Mrs. Kamini Baghel. Just after inauguration, medals and honors distribution ceremony took place. On the same day, the certificates of participation were also distributed to the women artists. Earlier Sahiba Siddique explained the objective of Society and described the whole event. Priyanka Richhariya conducted program nicely and vote of thanks were given by Meraj Khan.
Bundelkhand Art Society introduced it’s first-ever program for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This program is free; no charge has been taken from the women artists. To create interest among the women artists, the top five best entries were awarded Gold medals and certifications.
Mrs. Mradula, head of the organizing team along with her team member Meraj Khan and Anuradha Raikwar managed all the entire events. She told that more than 200 entries were received across the world for participation in this show. It shows how much women artists are passionate about art. Only the best 79 entries were finalized for the show. Two women artist from Latvia and one each from Brazile and Italy participated in this show. The names of the candidates who were awarded Gold medals are:

- PraveenaMahicha (Ahmedabad)
- Anjali Prabhakar (Bhopal)
- Shivangi Shrivastava (Jhansi)
- Richa Rai (Datia)
Apart from this, celebrating International Women’s Day, Bundelkhand Art Society honored with the Manu Award of Honor to three Women who have an extraordinary contribution in their respective field. For this the Society selected these women for this honor:
- NeetiShashtri (Educationist, Retd. Teacher & President Awardee)
- Archana Gupta (Politics & Educationist)
- Ranjana Gupta (International Shooter & Police Inspector in Crime Branch, Jhansi)
The closing the ceremony of this exhibition was held on 8 March 2020 at 3 pm. In which International Women’s Day was celebrated. The grand closing ceremony of this exhibition had been colorful and musical under the presence of Special guest Tabbasum Bano, the Secretary of the society along with artists Kamini Baghel &KuntiHariram. Program organizing team head Mrs. Mradula Saxena welcomed all the guests. On this occasion, celebrating Women’s Day, Smt. ShahnazParveen, the senior woman presented there was honored. Artists were given away participation certificates. Mementos were distributed to the organizing team. In this event Umar Khan, Mueen Akhtar, R K Khattri, Alakh Sahu, Kishan Soni, Uma Parashar, Parul Sosa, Shaila Siddique, Sheetal Soni, Anuradha, Meraj Khan, Shailendra, Dheeraj Khare, and Mayank. The program was conducted by Priyanka Richhariya & Kamini Mishra gave the vote of thanks.
